Dasagavya, is an organic preparation made from ten products in the form of panchagavya and certain plant extracts. “Gavya” is th term given to cow’s products comprising of cow dung, cow urine, cow’s milk, curd and ghee, which have miraculous effects on plant growth when suitably mixed.
Leucas aspera Lantana camera Datura metal
Calotrophis Vitex negundo Pongamia pinnata
jatropha curcas Adathoda vasica Azadirachta indica
The plant extracts are prepared by separately soaking the foliage in cow urine in 1:1 ratio (1 kg chopped leaves in 1 litre cow urine) for ten days. The filtered extracts of all the plants are then added @ 1 litre each to 5 litre of the panchagavya  solution. The mixture is kept for 25 days and stirred well, meanwhile, to ensure thorough mixing of panchagavya and the plant extracts.
Mode of use
The Dasagavya solution is filtered to avoid clogging of sprayer nozzles and is recommended as foliar spray at 3 % concentration. Soaking of seeds or dipping the roots of seedlings in 3 % solution of dasagavya for 20 minutes before planting enhances seed germination and root development.
Periodicity
Weekly sprays during crop growth for all vegetables and plantation crops.
Advantages

How to Control Pest by Natural Methods

HOW TO CONTROL PEST BY NATURAL METHODS

Cow urine from indigenous cow breeds is an excellent pest control method. Spray it weekly once as a preventative measure. If you store it in glass bottles for some time the potency will improve. You can keep the bottles in sunlight.

To make a spray solution dilute 20% cow urine and 80% water and spray weekly even if the plants are healthy as a preventative measure.

Neem extract mixed with cow urine is even more effective for pest control.

To prepare the neem extract proceed as follows:

  • Soak 20kg of neem branch bunches in 200l of water
  • Allow this to stand in shade for 4 days
  • Filter and dilute with water 1:1 (it can also be used neat)
Note: If neem leaves are not available you can use 4-5kg of neem oil cake.

You can alternate with the cow urine and neem extract preparations for pest control and for treating all sorts of plant diseases.

Buttermilk can be used with neem extract and cow urine for leaf curl disease.

If the soil is very salty and of poor quality use Amritpani more frequently with extra doses.

Natural / Organic Farming Meaning

Natural farming is a production system, which avoids the use of synthetically compounded fertilizers, pesticides and growth regulators. In other words, it relies upon crop rotations, crop residues, animal manures, off-farm organic wastes, microbial preparations and aspects of biological pest control to maintain soil productivity and tilt, to supply plant nutrients and to control pests & diseases thus paving a way to Sustainable Agriculture.

Natural Farming is a sustainable farming. Natural Farming makes all inputs from natural materials, observes the law of the Nature and respects the rights of crops and livestock.

Natural Farming heals the soil slashed by chemicals, herbicide and machines. Where Natural Farming is practiced, the soil and water become clean and ecology is recovered. It is even being used as a tool to fight desertification.

Natural farming, also known as Do-nothing farming or No-till farming,The most essential aspect of natural farming is to let nature play a dominant role to the maximum extent possible. Hence, no-till, farm biodiversity, integration and symbiotic farm components and protection of soil cover all have a place in this method of farming.
