How to make LIQUID Manure Preparation

  Fermented Buttermilk & Coconut Milk Solution

Required Ingredients

Note:

• For Home Use, instead of huge volumes, it is okay to have less volume by maintaining the ratio 1:1.
• Please note that the stick (neem stick is better or any pole) used for mixing the ingredients should be cleaned before & after the usage so as to avoid maggots formations in the manure.

Method of Preparation 

Mix both the Fermented Buttermilk & Coconut Milk and keep them in a shaded place for 1 week

.

Method of Storage

The manure should be kept in the shade and covered with a wire mesh or plastic mosquito net to prevent houseflies from laying eggs and the formation of worms in the solution. This is applicable during the preparation as well as during the shelf life of the manure as well.

How to use the Manure?

1. The manure needs to be sprayed after mixing 1 Lts of manure with 10 Lts of Water.

When to use the Manure?

1. The manure should be mixed thoroughly twice daily (in the morning & evening) and should be used after 1 week only for better results.
2. The manure should be applied during the flowering stage.

Home Made Pesticide - NEEMASTHRA

This is a Traditional Ayurveda Method of Pesticide and Plant growth Promoter.

Ingredients : for 1 Acre land Irrespective of crop.

Water                                     100 lts
Gomuthra(cow urine)              5 lts
Cow Dung                              2 kg
Neem Leaf Pulp                      5 kg

Mix all the above & set it to Ferment in a plastic or cement container," Don't use metal as it contaminates the solution"for 1 day.

Stir the solution  in twice in morning and evening,Apply on plants by mixing 2 lts to 100 lts of water,use either by spray or by mixing with irrigation water.

Home Made Pesticide- Dasakavya

Dasagavya, is an organic preparation made from ten products in the form of panchagavya and certain plant extracts. “Gavya” is th term given to cow’s products comprising of cow dung, cow urine, cow’s milk, curd and ghee, which have miraculous effects on plant growth when suitably mixed.

The plant extracts are prepared by separately soaking the foliage in cow urine in 1:1 ratio (1 kg chopped leaves in 1 litre cow urine) for ten days. The filtered extracts of all the plants are then added @ 1 litre each to 5 litre of the panchagavya  solution. The mixture is kept for 25 days and stirred well, meanwhile, to ensure thorough mixing of panchagavya and the plant extracts.

Mode of use

The Dasagavya solution is filtered to avoid clogging of sprayer nozzles and is recommended as foliar spray at 3 % concentration. Soaking of seeds or dipping the roots of seedlings in 3 % solution of dasagavya for 20 minutes before planting enhances seed germination and root development.

Periodicity

Weekly sprays during crop growth for all vegetables and plantation crops.

• Increases growth, yield and quality of the crops
• Controls pests like aphids, thrips, mites and other sucking pests
• Controls diseases like leaf spot, leaf blight, powdery mildew etc.

HOW TO MAKE PANCHAGAVYA

                                

 PANCHAGAVYA PREPARATION

                                 1. Fresh Cow-dung                                                     -   7 -8 kgs

                                2. Ghee (made from cow milk)                              -  1  kg

                                3. Jaggery (traditional centrifuged sugar)    -  1 kg 

Mix/blend these ingredients gently and leave it for 4 -  5 days. Than add the following ingredients,

                                 4. Cow urine                                                                   -   3 - 3.5ltrs

                                 5. Fresh cow milk                                                        -   2 ltrs

                                 6. Fresh Curd                                                                 -    2 ltrs

                                 7. Tender coconut water                                          -   3 - 3.5 ltrs

                                 8. Papaya fruit pulp                                                  -  1 ltr

                                 9. Banana(poovam) fruit pulp                             -  1ltr

mix all these ingredients well and leave it for 2 to 3 weeks. It has to be gently stirred  thrice in a day and will be ready to use after 15 - 17 days time.

2. can be passed(after a proper filtration)through inline, external drippers, sprinklers and flood irrigation @ 2 - 3ltrs / acre, once in a month.

 

How to Control Pest by Natural Methods

 HOW TO CONTROL PEST BY NATURAL METHODS

Cow urine from indigenous cow breeds is an excellent pest control method. Spray it weekly once as a preventative measure. If you store it in glass bottles for some time the potency will improve. You can keep the bottles in sunlight.

To make a spray solution dilute 20% cow urine and 80% water and spray weekly even if the plants are healthy as a preventative measure.

Neem extract mixed with cow urine is even more effective for pest control.

To prepare the neem extract proceed as follows:

• Soak 20kg of neem branch bunches in 200l of water
• Allow this to stand in shade for 4 days
• Filter and dilute with water 1:1 (it can also be used neat)

Note: If neem leaves are not available you can use 4-5kg of neem oil cake.

You can alternate with the cow urine and neem extract preparations for pest control and for treating all sorts of plant diseases.

Buttermilk can be used with neem extract and cow urine for leaf curl disease.

How to make NEEM EXTRACT

Neem Extract

Things needed : 

Neem Leaves 10 kgs
Cow Urine     10 litres
water

Soak 10kg of small bunches of neem branches in 10liters of Cow urine. Keep in the shade for 15 days. You can dilute this with water in 1:10 Ratio,filtration if required.

If neem leaves are not available take 4-5kg of neem oil cake and soak, filter and dilute as above.

Cow urine and neem spray is an effective anti-pest measure.

Honey & Ghee

Method:

 

Coat all seeds with honey and ghee mixture 1:1 before sowing

The coating of seeds with honey and ghee is given by the Rishis. This provides a powerful boost to the potencies of the seeds and helps them germinate and gives a crop that is strong and resistant to disease for it’s entire life.

AMRITPANI - Soil Enchancer or Coditioner

AMRITPANI

This is a special herbal nectar water that is fed to the soil to improve it’s nutrition and bring more vitality (prana - life) to the soil.

Use 200 litres of AMRITPANI per acre of farm land
250g pure cows ghee from indigenous cows
500g of organic raw unheated honey
10kg of fresh cow dung from indigenous cows
200 litres of water

Procedure:

Mix the ghee and the dung first well
Blend the honey into this mixture
Add the 200 ltrs water stirring all the time

How to use:

• Plant sugarcane, turmeric, ginger after dipping into the amritpani
• For all seedlings dip the roots into amritpani before planting
• When watering crops mix amritpani in stirring all the time
• When planting fruit trees, wet around the area with amritpani

Notes:

If the soil is very salty and of poor quality use Amritpani more frequently with extra doses.
